The Müller
Kenotron |
This
kenotron, 21”(53cms) long, dates back to the
forties. French made by “VARAY” who were since 1920 representatives in
During WWII, VARAY started manufacturing replacement tubes and valves,
under the “TUBIX” brand. The physical
resemblance between this kenotron, and the Müller kenotron (see picture)
is striking. The external metal cupping at the left end of the kenotron is the anode proper which is part of the wall of the tube and is in continuity with the glass wall. It is normally covered by the black-painted aluminum heat radiator (See pictures and x-rays of the tube with and without the radiator). |
